Instructor: Susanlora Morris Medium: Book making / book binding Date & Time: Saturday, September 12, 2026, 12 to 4pm Location: BRAF Gallery, 1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538 Class Fee: $55 for BRAF members / $65 for non-members Materials Fee: All materials will be supplied. There is a $25 materials fee to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop Skill level: No previous experience required. Class size: 8 students; adults only Discover the joy of creating a one-of-a-kind art journal with your own hands using the elegant Australian reverse piano hinge binding - a unique structure that combines strength, flexibility and a lay-flat design. In this workshop, you'll learn how to fold, glue and assemble a beautiful handmade journal that opens flat and is ready to be filled with your sketches, painting, collages, writing, and creative exploration. As you build your journal from start to finish, you'll experience the calming, meditative rhythm of working with paper while learning simple bookbinding techniques you can use again and again. Whether you are new to bookmaking or have experience, you will leave with a unique journal and the confidence to create more on your own.
