Students will learn, in a fun way, how to bring together an intuitive approach with the fundamentals of art to solve some of the mysteries we face in creating an abstract painting. Facing a blank canvas is daunting, especially when starting an abstract. The workshop begins with students creating "loose" abstract paintings and prints on paper which are then torn or cut up and glued to wood panels. These handmade paper shapes provide a place to start a painting and helps inspire the next step. Many of the fundamentals of art in realistic painting are the same for abstract work. Sarah is a practicing artist of both representational and non- representational paintings. She is an experienced teacher and understands these fundamentals as well as the intuitive approach to making art. She loves offering this abstract workshop!
