Class Description

Instructors: Georjean Machulis Co-instructors: Alijah Sheer, and Marja Draskic Brancazio Medium: Wooden altar, paint, collage, and embellishments Dates & Times: This workshop is 3 sessions: Wednesday, July 16, 2025; 10am - 4pm Thursday, July 17th, 10am - 4pm Friday, July 18th, 10am - 4pm Note: There will be a supplied brunch on the first day. Class fee: $425 for BRAF members; $500 for non-members Materials fee: $140 to be paid to the instructor on the day of the workshop. Includes a wooden altar and embellishments. Skill level: Any Class size: 8 students, adults only Register by July 7, 2025 Invoke the Divine Feminine while you build your own personal altar, creating a sacred place for inspiration, intent and reflection. Through gentle guidance and intent while creating your altar, you will discover pathways to better understanding dreams, grief, gratitude, healing and forgiveness. Your altar will represent what is dear to you, and establishes a sacred place for your dreams, desires, connection to the divine, prayer, paths of healing, and inspiration. You will create your altar on a triptych of carved, hinged wooden panels that can be folded shut or displayed open, standing or hung. Materials Fee: $140 . All materials are provided but we encourage you to bring copies of your favorite images, loved ones, poetry, writings, paper, fabric and any special embellishments. Alijah Sheer, Art Therapist and Dream interpreter, will guide us into dream incubation utilizing dialog, images from dreams, collage, and meditation to identify concerns, and assist in seeking spiritual guidance in answer to questions. Marja Draskic Brancazio, artist, gifted dreamer and musician known for her quest to translate the spiritual into the material and vibrational realms will speak on the healing power of mermaids and provide live music and songs that inspire and heal. About the instructor: Georjean Machulis, well known for her altar creations and Inspired Woman Retreats, has been creating and leading ritual and ceremony for over 35 years. Her work has been shown in Tallahassee, FL, Santa Fe, NM, Boothbay Harbor, ME, and the Netherlands, where she was recently awarded “The Peoples’ Choice” for her dream altars at the International Association for the Study of Dreams. Machulis also works holding vigil as a death doula and is a member of the International Threshold Choir who sing for those on the threshold of life.
