  • Exhibiting Artists:  Have you missed the times to pick up unsold artwork from past shows? Too much orphaned artwork (excluding Bin-art) is becoming an issue with our limited storage space so please retrieve your works. Either pick up or make arrangements with the Gallery.  Otherwise, these items become the property of the Gallery and will be disposed of as the Board determines.

  • THE SECOND FLOOR GALLERIES are now available for ANY artists to rent. For dates, availability, costs, and other information go to:

In the Heart of Boothbay Harbor, Maine

Since 1964, the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, Inc., an inclusive, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has served the artists, communities, and students of the Boothbay Region through fine art sales and promoting education. Our mission has been to help artists of all ages to create, enjoy, learn from, display, and participate in many forms of the visual arts.  The gallery provides the venue to promote artists and generate income to provide scholarships for area graduating students to continue their art education.  Tax-deductible donations to honor the arts are critical for BRAF to continue serving our communities.

"Take Part in Art" Series' Event

March 2024: WILDE'S WORKSHOP “Collage and the Abstract Process”

BRAF's Series continued with Sarah Wilde’s wildly successful a two-day workshop for both beginners and experienced painters.  Sarah graduated from the Corcoran School of Art, has been a longtime student of Katharina Keoughan, and taught in schools on the Boothbay and Bristol peninsulas for many years.

January 17, 2024:  A WINTER ARTIST'S SHARE at BRAF

A valuable opportunity to share & explore one’s artwork with fellow artists. There was appreciation, listening, questioning, some gentle critiques, and tea & cookies.   Topics explored ranged from inspiration, disappointments, surprises, and options to when to stop.

"Take Part in Art" Series' Event

2023 concluded with Katarina invigorating workshop exploring "Where do Creative ideas come from?".  Those fortunate enough to attend this participatory brainstorming were challenged, informed, rewarded, and smiling.

2023-2024: The Annual "ART IN THE SQUARE" SHOW

Once again, regional artists proudly contributed to the “Art in the Square” showcase.  The show’s purpose is to support BRAF’s High School Scholarship Fund, BRAF’s hosting of the Annual Pre-K-thru-12 Student Art Show, the participating artists, and the gallery's operation. Customers had the unique opportunity to purchase original artwork by their favorite, or other well-known regional artists, for $125. Artists rose to the challenge again with excellent use of the 12” x 12” canvases and other media/sculptures.

The Boothbay Region Art Foundation is not your typical Gallery...

In 1963, twenty-six founding artists desired to leave a legacy to the Boothbay Region that had given them inspiration and livelihoods.  They develop the model of selling their artwork to help fund a Boothbay Region High School Scholarship Foundation to assist local college bound graduates with an interest in artistic endeavors.  Over a half a century later, the members, artists, and volunteers of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation Inc., a 501{c}(3) charitable and educational nonprofit organization, continue that operational model through the Gallery. The artists still return a portion of their sale proceeds to the Foundation to support the Gallery, the inclusion of K-12 Art Shows, and the BRAF Scholarships.  Your donations will also contribute to this long legacy of giving back, inspired by the bounty of the Boothbay Region.
