In the Heart of Boothbay Harbor, Maine

Since 1964, the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, Inc., an inclusive, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has served the artists, communities, and students of the Boothbay Region through fine art sales and promoting education. Our mission has been to help artists of all ages to create, enjoy, learn from, display, and participate in many forms of the visual arts. The gallery provides the venue to promote artists and generate income to provide scholarships for area graduating students to continue their art education. Tax-deductible donations to honor the arts are critical for BRAF to continue serving our communities.

The first-floor exhibit kicks off our Fall season with vibrant colors, crispness, variety, and a celebration of creativity. All works are available for sale as we mark BRAF's milestone of 60 years of continuous operation as a nonprofit whose proceeds support our mission to create opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, learn from, and participate in the visual arts.
BRAF is also sponsoring two solo shows in the upstairs Galleries:
Gallery One features Joanne Houlsen, who has a grouping of “Seaside Homes and Gardens” and watercolorist Diana Young presents selections from her “Figures in “Lifescapes”. The Harbor View Room presents the Villard Studios, well known for their woodblock prints, white line prints, watercolor woodblock prints, and hand-bound artists’ books.

2023 AUGUST: Showcase of Artwork by Foundation Members
The “July in Maine” members’ show, presenting artwork for sale by 106 regional artists, was a great success. The number of sales to support our regional artists and the BRAF High School Scholarship fund.was reflective of the volume of Boothbay Harbor visitors and locals.

The Boothbay Region Art Foundation is not your typical Gallery...

In 1963, twenty-six founding artists desired to leave a legacy to the Boothbay Region that had given them inspiration and livelihoods. They develop the model of selling their artwork to help fund a Boothbay Region High School Scholarship Foundation to assist local college bound graduates with an interest in artistic endeavors. Over a half a century later, the members, artists, and volunteers of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation Inc., a 501{c}(3) charitable and educational nonprofit organization, continue that operational model through the Gallery. The artists still return a portion of their sale proceeds to the Foundation to support the Gallery, the inclusion of K-12 Art Shows, and the BRAF Scholarships. Your donations will also contribute to this long legacy of giving back, inspired by the bounty of the Boothbay Region.
