A drawing class for those who think they can't draw.

This drop in drawing class is open to everyone, especially those who believe they can't draw. Pablo Picasso famously said "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." The only way to learn to draw is to draw. You don't need experience -- just curiosity.
There will be two Drop in Drawing Sessions:
Friday, February 6th, 10am - 12pm
Friday, February 20th, 10am - 12pm
Location: BRAF Gallery, 1 Townsend Ave, Boothbay Harbor, upstairs Harbor Room
There is a $5 fee to participate.
Bring your favorite drawing tools (see below for options). Some objects will be available, but if you like, bring a simple object like a vase, mug, or pitcher. This is an invitation to loosen up, get curious, and enjoy the act of drawing. The focus is not on "getting it right" or making a "pretty" drawing but on letting your hand wander, responding to what you see, and embracing happy accidents.
Hosted by artist Susanlora Morris, the gathering will include warm-up exercises, a guided drawing exercise, and conversation about materials and approaches. We'll learn from one another, share the process, and enjoy the pleasure of drawing together. Susanlora invites you to browse her Drawing for Fun page on Pinterest that features "pins" that inspire her drawing practice.
