Cabañas' moody and dramatic landscapes along with porcelain works incised with Sgraffito are emblematic of the Maine coast. Her show is on view in Gallery One at the BRAF Gallery until June 22, 2025.
A native Brooklynite, Cabañas has lived and painted out of her adopted home of Friendship, Maine since 2004. Known primarily as an innovative painter of the Maine shores, Pam’s work has been shown in private galleries and non-profits thru out mid-coast Maine, recently receiving a grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation and a Juror's Award at the ArtinMe exhibit held at the BRAF Gallery in the fall of 2024.

Of Cabañas works on display in her solo show at the BRAF Gallery, she says "Lately I have come to view my work as being rather “blunt.” No frills, not hidden in abstraction, just put down in imagery using basic mediums. From the interpretation of Maine coastal landscapes to the time worn stuff of life dotting the wharfs and harbors of Friendship, Maine the narrative emerges. Extending to self reflection and immersion in my coastal life, that narrative hopefully serves to shape works that stand alone with no further words necessary."

Recently Pam has travelled back in time to her days involved in the ceramic arts using delicate sgraffito techniques on porcelain to create works emblematic of the Maine Coast.
