The Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) welcomes summer with three exhibitions that showcase the creativity, talent, and environmental concerns of Maine artists. On view through June 21, 2026, the exhibitions include BRAF's Spring Members' Show, a solo exhibition by local artist Charles Nowell, and a special Eco-Art exhibition presented by the Boothbay Region Climate Action Team.

The Spring Members' Show fills the BRAF Gallery with a vibrant collection of paintings, photography, mixed media works, sculpture, fiber arts and more created by artists from across the region. The first summer member’s exhibition highlights the breadth of artistic talent within BRAF's membership and offers visitors an opportunity to experience a wide range of styles, subjects, and creative perspectives in a single show.

In Gallery One, Boothbay artist Charles Nowell presents a collection of oil paintings inspired by the Maine landscape. Familiar coastal landmarks, dramatic sunrises and sunsets, and hyper-realistic still lifes demonstrate Nowell's keen eye for detail and deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the region.

The Harbor Room Gallery features an Eco-Art exhibition curated by the Boothbay Region Climate Action Team. The exhibition explores themes of environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and community action through artwork that reflects, responds to, and inspires conversation about the changing world around us.

The public is invited to an opening reception on Friday, June 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to meet participating artists, view the exhibitions, and enjoy light refreshments in a welcoming community setting.
