The Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) is set to burst with artistic energy this August, featuring multiple exhibitions that promise something for every art lover. From an expansive member's show to a dedicated solo exhibition and an exciting inaugural juried event, BRAF is the place to be for art enthusiasts in the region.

Kicking off the month's artistic offerings is BRAF's new Member's Show, opening on Wednesday, July 23rd. This highly anticipated exhibition showcases the incredible talent of BRAF's more than 170 member artists, presenting works in an array of styles and mediums. Visitors will discover pieces in watercolor, oils, gouache, fiber/textile, photography, acrylic, wood assemblage, dioramas, sculpture, and ceramics. With such a vast selection, you're sure to find that "certain piece" that resonates with you. This show will be on view until August 24th.

In addition to the member's show, BRAF's Gallery One will feature a captivating solo exhibition by local Boothbay artist Charles Nowell. Nowell's artistic journey began at the age of 10, and after years of dedicated study and honing his craft, his professional career flourished with acceptance into notable galleries in Massachusetts and Vermont. This August, Nowell will focus on his passion for painting landscapes of Maine and New England, with many of these works on display for visitors to enjoy.

Adding another exciting dimension to August's art scene, BRAF will unveil its first-ever Member's Juried Show in the Harbor Room Gallery. This landmark exhibit, juried by Dennis Gleason of Gleason's Fine Art, offers BRAF members a valuable opportunity to showcase their talent in a competitive setting. The juried show will be on view from Friday, August 1, 2025, through Sunday, September 21, 2025.

All are warmly invited to an opening reception on Friday, August 1st, from 5 to 7 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle with the talented artists and fellow art enthusiasts while enjoying light refreshments.
